Windsurf

Windsurf (by Codeium) connects to MCP servers through Cascade. Configuration is global only — there is no per-project MCP file.

Configuration

Windsurf uses mcpServers with serverUrl (or url) for remote HTTP servers:

Enable

1. Save mcp_config.json.
2. In Cascade, click the hammer (MCP) icon → Refresh.
3. Confirm yetitech-docs appears in the MCP toolbar.

Tool limit

Windsurf enforces a 100-tool limit across all connected MCP servers. YetiTech Docs exposes four tools, so it fits easily alongside Unreal MCP and others.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
Config ignored	Path must be ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json, not ~/.windsurf/
Server offline	Click Refresh in the MCP toolbar after saving
Too many tools	Disable unused MCP servers to stay under the 100-tool cap
